Stories of Humanity.

HUMAN EYES is a collection of handpainted jackets created in collaboration with UTTN, an independent podcast hosted by Palestinian activists Amira Mohammed and Ibrahim Abu Ahmad.

This project does not exist to sanitize reality—it exists to reveal it. The jackets are not symbols of entire peoples, but of those Palestinians and Israelis who dare to walk toward another kind of future.

It does not wash over the atrocities of ethnic cleansing, mass killing, or occupation; it seeks connection in a time of disconnection. It shows how trauma and grief can be transformed into action, how radical empathy can grow into solidarity, and how liberation can NEVER be selective.

In an age where dehumanization dominates headlines, Human Eyes brings us back to what’s real: people.

I SHALL NOT HATE

Widely known as “the Gaza Doctor,” Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish is a Palestinian physician, humanitarian, and peace advocate whose life embodies resilience and hope.

In January 2009, an Israeli tank shell struck his home in Jabaliya, Gaza, killing three of his daughters—Bessan (21), Mayar (15), and Aya (13)—and his niece Noor (17). Despite this devastating loss, he chose not to surrender to hate or revenge but to transform his grief into action, dedicating his life to justice, compassion, and peace.

Through the Daughters for Life Foundation, he carries forward his daughters’ dreams, creating opportunities for young women across the Middle East. His memoir, I Shall Not Hate, has touched readers worldwide with its message of forgiveness, courage, and humanity.

 WAGE PEACE

Vivian Silver was a Canadian-Israeli peace activist who dedicated her life to justice, equality, and dialogue.

After moving to Israel in the 1970s, she co-founded the Arab-Jewish Center for Equality, Empowerment and Cooperation (AJEEC-NISPED), promoting shared society projects, Bedouin rights, and women’s empowerment.

Vivian also volunteered with Road to Recovery and Project Rozana, personally driving Gazans to Israeli hospitals for medical care unavailable in Gaza. In 2014, she co-founded Women Wage Peace, a grassroots movement of thousands pressing for a negotiated political solution between Israelis and Palestinians.

Vivian was tragically killed in the Hamas attack on Kibbutz Be’eri on October 7, 2023, and is remembered as one of the region’s most tireless voices for peace.

Proceeds from this piece donated directly to a Fundraiser for Musa, helping a Palestinian family in Gaza.

Special thanks to the late Vivian Silver's son Yonatan Zeigen for his support of this project.

STAR CROSSED LOVERS

Mahmoud Darwish was a Palestinian poet and author whose life and work gave voice to the struggles and dreams of his people.

He was born in al-Birwa in the Galilee, a village destroyed by Israeli forces during the 1948 Nakba, and carried the memory of home and displacement throughout his life. Widely regarded as Palestine’s national poet, and the author of the Palestinian Declaration of Independence, his words explore identity, love, and the universal yearning for freedom.

Among his most intimate works are the poems to “Rita,” inspired by his secretive love and relationship with Tamar Ben-Ami, a Jewish Israeli woman. Though many have speculated on the reasons their love unraveled, only Mahmoud and Tamar truly carried its story.

Darwish’s poetry continues to inspire readers around the world, revealing how grief, memory, and integrity can awaken a deeper humanity that connects us all.

VOICE OF THE PEOPLE

Rim Banna was a Palestinian singer and activist whose voice carried both memory and defiance.

From Nazareth, she revived traditional lullabies and folk songs, preserving a cultural heartbeat threatened by erasure. Living within Israeli society, she embodied the strength it takes to affirm and empower Palestinian identity in that reality.

In the final years of her life, she raised awareness about breast cancer within the region. Even as she faced the illness herself, she continued to sing, showing that creating, existing, and sharing one’s voice can itself be an act of perseverance.

UTTN is an independent podcast created and hosted by two Palestinian activists, Amira Mohammed (Jerusalem) and Ibrahim Abu Ahmad (Nazareth).

What began as a podcast has grown into a community for those seeking real solutions and committed to nonviolence.

UTTN offers not just dialogue between “sides,” but a transformation of the conversation itself - paving the way for meaningful, lasting change.

Unapologetic in their Palestinian identity and their demand for justice and collective liberation, UTTN is kicking off Season 2.

Season 1, launched in late October 2023, centered on dialogue, while Season 2 shifts toward action. By amplifying the voices of brave individuals and initiatives fighting injustice, UTTN will show listeners concrete ways to contribute. This season will also shine a special spotlight on Palestinian activism and women’s leadership.

As part of this mission to make international support accessible to activists on the ground, the Palestinian-led UTTN podcast has teamed up with Toronto artist HIERAM for this unique collaboration. Proceeds will be donated directly to Clean Shelter.
